Sharon Hodgson as born May 2, 1977. Her father was in the military, so her family moved frequently.

She has worked as a professional artist since she was sixteen, when she worked as a freelance comic strip artist for the Saskatoon Star Phoenix for three years. The comic strip, “Sir Prancelot”, featured a punny knight in day-to-day situations.

S. Hodgson went to Medicine Hat College and received a Visual Communications diploma with honours in 1998. She worked in the Creative Department for the Medicine Hat News for a year.

While in Washington, S. Hodgson worked for Johnson, Bassin & Shaw, Inc. as a web and graphic designer. Some of her print publications were distributed nationally, such as the National Clearinghouse for Families and Youth’s Express Yourself (101,000 copies) and Youth Who Turned Their Lives Around (10,000 copies). Her design of the National Leadership Institute’s web site even earned Johnson, Bassin & Shaw the APEX Award for Design and Layout in 2001.

She moved back to Canada to Nova Scotia in May, 2004. After two years of freelancing as a graphic and web designer in Halifax Regional Municipality, she decided to start her own business. On May 2nd, 2006, she started ODDesign Creative Services.

Body acceptance is important to her. On May 10th, 2006, she founded We Bite Back. It has over 1000 members in over 30 countries worldwide. The community aims to build up 100 pieces of body-positive writings in it's essay project by it's one year anniversary. Sharon Hodgson is a member of the Board for the Eating Disorders Action Group

She has been creating artwork and selling it through her web site since 2000. sharonhodgson.com features an Art Blog updated weekly with her latest pieces, commissions and mural projects.
